Westport

One of the road trips we took recently was to a little beach town called Westport. It was a gorgeous sunny day and we wanted to go exploring.

We stopped at a small brewery, then headed to the warf. It was pretty windy so we drove over to the beach area. The clouds started to roll in so we ate our picnic lunch in the car before we started to head back.

There was an awesome winery that we had passed on the way to Westport, so we stopped there for a wine tasting. I was amazed by all the art work and sculptures they had made out of driftwood! Even a full chess board! The wine there was delicious too!

Sun.

He sun doesn't come out often enough around here - so when it does we are not hanging out at home! This past weekend was gorgeous so we played catch at the park, picked giant dandelions, ate frozen yogurt, went to happy hour at Sonic for a cherry limeade, plated around at the Apple store, and enjoyed the views of a beautiful lake at dusk.

Easter.

Easter proved to be a glorious day. It was a perfect 70 degrees out, Riley hunted for painted eggs around the house before going through her very stuffed Easter basket (thank you, Grandma Charm and Nana!) then she excitedly put on her Easter dress to head off to church. When we got home another family came over and we made brunch before doing an egg hunt at an old dairy farm down the street. Let me tell you, that hubby of mine is an excellent egg hider!

It was an absolutely perfect Sunday spent with family and friends.

And man, am I glad to be able to update on here again - I know all of my family and friends have been missing my posts!

Valentine's Day

Today is the day of Love. Whether you spend it with your significant other, your family, or your best friend, just showing your appreciation and love for that person is something to celebrate.

Lent

Today will be shunning social networking and focus on things more important to me. Hopefully this will mean more designing and being creative.

Mardi Gras...

Fat Tuesday...the day before Lent. The day where everyone gets a little wild and indulges in their vices. The day before sacrifice for 40 days. Are you participating today? Any fun plans?

Starting tomorrow I will be giving up Social Networking. I need to focus more on being in the moment, really connecting with people, and focusing more on my family. I feel as if social networking has crippled those things in its wake. I hope this sacrifice will help me become a better person, a better wife, a better mother, a better friend. So forgive me for my absence, it will be hard but I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'll see you on Easter!!!

Birthday Weekend

This past weekend my little family went to Seattle for the day. We walked around Pikes Place, finally tasted some Beecher's famous Mac N Cheese, got a lavender cupcake at Cupcake Royale, then did a little shopping at Sephora and Nordstrom before heading back home to put my party dress on and go out with the girls. This week will be a continuation of my birthday celebrating along with Valentine's Day.

Lets hope this week goes a little more smoothly than last week, child sickness and work stress was killing me!
