Blue Pop

Blue Chair; Blue Cushion; Blue Wall; Blue Sheets & Curtains; Blue Ottoman & Cushions; Blue Crib; Blue Christmas Tree; Blue Accessories

I am loving all the blue accent pieces/accessories/nail polishes in all shade of blue that I've been seeing. I'm not usually into blue (I'm more of a pink girl) but this season has brought out the side of blue that I do love.

Nail Polish

From top: Essie Haute As Hello, Essie Turquoise and Caicos, OPI Ski Teal We Drop, OPI, OPI Mermaid's Tears, Essie Chichilly, Essie Ballet Slipper

I am very traditional when it comes to nail polish. I have a few shades in red, coral, and dark pink. I rarely ever go for something crazy or different. Nail polish is now being used as an "accessory" to your outfit, by changing it up you add another element to make your outfit come together. By skipping the traditional go-to color I am going to try colors like these to compliment what I'm wearing and give that extra pop of color. You can always change it, so why not give it a go? Also, if you know the name of the two polishes up there, please let me know!

Tuesday, Tuesday

Shirt: Abercrombie & Fitch, Skirt: Urban Outfitters, Watch: Michael Kors, Belt: BP Nordstrom, Tank: Victoria's Secret

Since I was in North County today for work, I made a quick stop at Amsterdam Coffee. I love the retro vibe they have there with their black and red furniture and counter tops, and their coffee is creamy and delicious. I walked on over to the park to sit and drink my coffee since it wasn't too hot out yet. It seemed to be the perfect spot to take some pictures!

Happy Weekend!

Had a garage sale, walked the Bob Jones Trail with a good friend, went to a baby shower, and made homemade ice cream. I'd say that's a pretty good weekend, wouldn't you?

Home is Whenever I'm With You

I've been thinking a lot lately, about my goals, my dreams, and what it would take to achieve everything I want successfully. I am so blessed for the amount of support I have from my family and friends here in this little town. But I can't help but feel like this isn't where I belong. I need to spread my wings and really let my talents shine. You can only do so much of that here. I want my own home, my own space, my own life. I want it so bad. And while my motivational skills are somewhat lacking (...ahem...) I  really am making an effort to achieve these goals and be successful with my dream as a fashion designer. I have it in me, that's very clear. I just need to put a little WD-40 on those rusty wheels and get it going.

What are you goals/dreams? Have you achieved them? What did you do to get yourself there?

Savvy Living

Ordered this book through Borders.com and it finally arrived at the store today (free shipping!) I was so happy to get the call. New books are just so great. So I headed over there to pick it up and immediately started reading it. I'm really hoping this book changes my life. I am SO bad when it comes to money. I just never learned how to properly manage it. It usually gets the best of me, and I just can't keep living like that. I need to take the reigns, get it under control, and get on track so there's less stress around here.

What book/s are you reading right now? Any good recommendations?

She is My Sunshine...

My daughter Riley says the most amazing things on a daily basis. One day as we're getting ready she'll say in her sweet little voice "I like your dress mom, it's so pretty" or if I got mad at her because she was playing in her room, blocking the door and not taking her nap, she'll say as I'm tucking her in "I'm sorry I was by the door mom, I love you" and instantly any anger I had dissipates. Children do the most amazing things. One of my favorite things is when she's singing along to the radio in the car, or making up her own songs about something she's doing. I can't wait to see how her interests evolve. Princesses, Spongebob, and Dinosaurs are where we're at right now. And any book she gets her hand on she does her best to "read" it aloud.

And I don't think many kids carry around a dictionary as their favorite book. Just sayin', this kid's going somewhere!

Beautiful Saturday

Alright, so today my post will be a little boring, because none of my pictures were coming out quite right and it's such a beautiful day out...and baby girl is currently taking a nap so I would rather spend my time away from the computer! I hope you are having a fantastic Saturday! Mine has been nice and relaxing...just the way I like them!

Favorable Friday

Photo found on Pinterest, ivyandaster.com

Can I just say....I am SO excited it Friday!! These days I live for the weekend...work has been slow so I'm always eager to get out and do something fun. But I guess my classifications of "fun" might not be what you consider fun....like setting up for a garage sale. Mmmhmm. I want to get rid of all this clutter everywhere in my house and storage unit. Plus I could use the extra cash. Then some sewing is in order. Maybe finally purchasing some prescription sunglasses. And of course ordering my ball gown! That one I DEFINITELY can't wait to do.

What are your fabulous plans for the weekend??

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward:
- Arriving at the medical records department to copy records for work and while telling the custodian the patient's name she inadvertantly feels your tummy up because your loose/drapey sweater apparently makes you look pregnant. Then she double checks to make sure, only realizing that no, you are not pregnant, and then just ignores the fact that she did that to you while you stand there in shock. Fun times.
- Having a little bit of road rage at the person who's car door is open making it so they are hogging up the parking spot in front of Starbucks because they wanted to organize their back seat. And after they finally move and you park, you scrape the bottom part of your front bumper over the curb. Real smooth.
- Being overdramatic about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that has happened this past week. Actually, make that past weeks.

Awesome:
- Starbucks bought for me by my dad. Because I drove him to his eye appointment. Oh and the new iced coffee blend that I'm going to try tomorrow. SO EXCITED.
- Riley singing Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" when it came on the radio, and I actually recorded it this time.
- Finding this incredibly amazing dress (within my price range!!!) for the upcoming military ball I'm attending next month. It will seriously blow your mind.

Well Hello There....

As you can see, my daughter is the apple of my eye ;) This picture was so sweetly taken by my dad on the fourth of July. Stick around to see what's going on in my lil 'ol life. It's pretty great (if I say so myself)
