Weekend

This weekend was awesome. It was the weekend I've been looking forward to all month. Saturday and Sunday had the most amazing and warm weather that we've had around here in a while. Lana, Riley and I all went to the beach on Saturday. We spend the entire day there. It was glorious!! Saturday was also my brother's 19th birthday, we went to Madonna Inn for dinner and had their fabulous cake. Sunday was the bridal show at Embassy Suites, I got a lot of ideas, information, and got to meet some vendors I had been talking with through e-mail. I was soooo glad my maid of honor was able to go! Every time I looked over she was busily taking notes. I can't wait for the next show in April!!

It's hard for me to communicate exactly what I'm feeling. 

I'm reminded of how much I love my darling daughter when she says the cutest and most unexpected things. My favorite: "mommy, you're my best friend." 

I feel self-conscious when I don't like what I'm wearing.

I am mildly dishonest when I save pictures I like but never save the links to them. Then put them on Pinterest/this blog. Oops :(

I can't imagine a world without a complete family.  

I'm surprised that I still an managing to lose weight even though I haven't fully changed my eating habits, or exercise nearly enough.

I get a little too easily wrapped up in finding things that inspire me but not putting those inspirations to good use.  

I indulge in guilty pleasures like staying up way to late watching Parenthood on Netflix or reading.  

I wish all things in life were as wonderful as the moment I see my fiancés face after not seeing him for months.  

A Little This, a Little That

This weekend was great! Friday I finally got my nails done, I tried shellac since I always seem to chip my nails two days after getting them done. And of course your nails have to look nice when everyone asks to see your ring ;).

Riley and I went to Santa Barbara with Catherine, and I didn't buy anything! Except food. I even had a gift certificate for Nordstrom. Looks like I'll be saving it for my birthday! Yesterday I didn't really do much, just relaxed. Then Riley and I went to play at the beach in the evening. It was cold but she was having so much fun. So I endured it for an hour. I also went to look at the GIANT cake book they have a Madonna Inn. There were some crazy cakes in there but they will make whatever you want! Lastly, I went to the gym today! A small victory to breaking this non-motivated rut I've been in. I need to get on the ball with this one, I'm getting married in 8 months!!

On that note, I can't believe January I'd almost over and my birthday is in just a few weeks!!!!

Well Hello...

So I've been in sort of a wedding craze. Pretty much every night when I get home from work, I scour Pinterest and Etsy for ideas to include in my wedding/bridal shower/engagement party/engagement photos. I am OBSESSED with wedding planning. Yes, I sad it. I seriously can't wait. There are just so many beautiful things, and I'm a sucker for detail. Here are just a few pictures I picked off of Pinterest and Etsy. Here's to a Fabulous New Year!

I wanted to take a minute to reflect on all the wonderful things that happened on 2011. Being that it was the Year of the Rabbit, it truly felt like a year of opportunity, adventure, challenges, and real successes.

What Made 2011 Special:

1. I participated in a fashion trade show called Thread that I had been wanting to do since I was in Fashion School. I created an entire Spring/Summer collection for my brand Hybrid Couture to sell at the show with the help of my friend Analisa.

2. I took my daughter Riley to Disneyland for the first time for her 3rd birthday. It was the most magical experience seeing an amusement park through a child's eyes. I had the greatest time showing her everything I loved about that place!

3. I was featured in Eco Show, an eco-friendly fashion show put on by a Cal Poly graduate as her senior project. The show had a huge turnout and was really fun to do!

4. With the help of Rocky's mom, we put on a huge 25th birthday bash - Luau Themed, that everyone had the best time at!

5. I got an iPhone 4s for Christmas. I have been wanting an iPhone for what seems like an eternity! and it is SO awesome!

6. I bought a BRAND NEW CAR. BY MYSELF.

7. I went to Disneyworld. DISNEYWORLD.

8. Rocky and I went to Ink-and-Iron together then had a luxurious mini vacay at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara. So blissful.

9. I saw Katy Perry in concert! Best end the summer!

10. I made new friends, took another fashion class, and even cooked more than I ever have!

11. Oh yeah...I got ENGAGED!
