Tis the Season

Can you believe Christmas is just around the corner? I'm getting more and more excited for all of the festivities surrounding the holiday, and spending it with new friends and family. I'm excited to make homemade gifts and decorations, including our stockings!! I was going to go the Pottery Barn route and order the cute velvet embroidered stockings, but saw a picture on Pinterest that I just couldn't pass up...and with my sewing skills that seriously need to be put to use, why wouldn't I?? SLO Swap O Rama

Riley and I had a blast at the Swap O Rama this weekend! Swap O Rama is where you bring a bag of old clothes that you don't wear anymore and have the chance to swap them out for some "new to you" items! You can even embellish them, rework them into another article of clothing, screen print them, etc! They had a station of sewing machines and tons of supplies to add on. Riley made a bracelet, a cape, and a headband! I also got a bag full of goodies. I pretty much grabbed every polka dot item I could find on those tables!

The Stitch Market

Last week, I got a flyer for a local handmade shop being put on by 25 vendors. I could wait to check it out! As a local designer, I fully support others following their dreams. We got some more ideas for the wedding, I found some cute items for gifts, and even a couple little things for myself. I really wish they put on more events like this! Definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to when I move closer to a big city!

If you didn't know, I am obsessed with details. I love ruffles, flowers, lace, and all textures of fabrics. I love handmade accessories. I love upcycled and vintage clothing. I feel inspired by all of these things. I'm constantly on Etsy looking for new ideas to freshen up my designs. I haven't quite ventured into doing detailing on my items, but I would love to learn new tips and tricks to make the simplicity of my designs go to a new level.
